
Linda Callaghan RGN Dip Triage
Practice Nurse Manager / Partner
Linda qualified in 1979 at Kings College Hospital, London. Since then she has worked in District General Hospitals on a variety of wards, giving her vast experience. She had a Sisters post at the Royal united hospital before moving to Wiltshire Health Care, and has worked in several of the community hospitals.
Linda joined The Porch in 1999, as a triage and research nurse, her post gradually developed and she became Nurse Manager in 2002, and then became a partner in 2004. Linda works closely with the practice manager and other partners, as well as her own nursing team. This ensures that consistently high standards of care and health promotion are offered within the practice.
Linda’s special interests are coronary heart disease, diabetes, triage / minor illness and clinical trials. Linda qualified as a Nurse Prescriber in 2005 at the University of Gloucester.
The Nurse Team
There are several nurses and a health care assistant who work within the surgery. Some of their roles overlap, but they all have their own specialties and run their nurse led clinics, and Triage / Minor illness
You can make an appointment in the treatment room without seeing a doctor first, e.g. for change of dressings, removal of stitches, blood pressure checks, removal of earwax, tetanus injections. If you are unsure who is the right person to see, the receptionists will advise you.
All the nurses within the surgery are specifically trained or have undertaken extra courses within the areas they work
